Sound Strokes: A Harmonious Blend of Chinese and Scottish Music

58-60 Hampstead Road, London, NW1 2PY

Description

Sound Strokes blends guzheng, harp, and bodhrán/percussion in an intimate performance of reimagined folk melodies, original works, and improvisation - where Chinese and Celtic traditions meet in a poetic, cross-cultural musical dialogue.

Following the success of "Waves of Tradition" with a 4-star reviewed by The Scotsman in Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2025, Wan Xing, Eleanor Dunsodon and Gregor Black brings the audience a new and vibrant intercultural programme.

The expressive sound of the Chinese guzheng meets Scottish musical traditions with bodhrán, drum and harp taking inspiration from Chinese calligraphy to explore the resonances between Eastern and Western traditions.
